The Stunning Red Carpet Looks From Men And Women Stars

The red carpet looks for tonight’s 80^th Golden Globes are show-stopping. Celebrities are arriving to The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills where the show is always filmed. Red Carpet trends are strong this year. Men tonight have been showing they aren’t afraid of going all black, and women are stunning in blush pink, red, blue, and many are shimmering in sequins and crystals.

Colman Domingo is shimmering in black on black on black custom Dolce & Gabbana. His double-breasted blazer has encrusted crystals and his husband Raúl Domingo is wearing an all-black matching look, without the crystals. Also in all black, in Valentino is actor Eddie Redmayne, who is pulling off a large rosette broach. The Oscar-winning actor is nominated for his role in Netflix’s The Good Nurse. Jenny slate from the animated film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, has gone green wearing Rodarte.

There hasn’t been a Golden Globes for two years, and Covid wasn’t the only reason, controversy was. In 2021 the Los Angeles Times did an expose on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the body that votes on who wins a Golden Globe. The HPFA was called out for not having any Black voting members, as well as exposing how HFPA members engaged in smear campaigns against journalists who wanted membership- and HFPA members who sold tickets to the ceremony for high amounts. Forbes business staff member Connor Murray laid out the details of the HFPA’s blotchy past in an article last week and how there has been noticeable reforms.

One noticeable change is that Black comedian Jerrod Carmichael will be hosting. It will be interesting to see what jokes he makes of the show’s comeback. There are category changes in the supporting actor TV categories: best supporting actress in a limited series/anthology or motion picture made for television, best supporting actor in a television series/musical-comedy or drama, best supporting actor in a limited series/anthology or motion picture made for television, and best supporting actress in a television series/musical-comedy or drama.

Tonight’s ceremony is long awaited as it’s the largest opener for the awards season, which runs from January (The Golden Globes) to March 12^th (The Academy Awards).
