Aadhi Raja makes a return for Westwood in the boys doubles final during the District 25-6A tennis tournament that was played at Old Settlers Park in April. Raja helped Westwood win the Class 6A team tennis title Thursday in College Station.

In just one of the most dominant shows in UIL team tennis history, Westwood rolled to its third Course 6A point out championship in the earlier five years with a 10- victory around Houston Memorial on Thursday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Middle on the Texas A&M campus in School Station.

Westwood became the first faculty to gain a championship duel without the need of supplying up a point due to the fact Abilene Wylie gained the Course 4A title in 2017. The Warriors are also the initially team in the state’s major classification to earn a state title by shutout due to the fact the UIL expanded the staff tennis scoring program further than a few points for a victory in 1986.

“This was a full staff work,” Westwood mentor Travis Dalrymple reported. “From our greatest gamers all the way down to our guys cheering and finding h2o, these young ones love every single other and have experienced each other’s backs from working day a single.  I explained to them right before state I didn’t care if we received, for the reason that the way they done on their own and worked as a device, I realized we experienced already won.”
